THERE ARE THREE DIFFERENT LEVELS OF BADGES.

2-Coach/Manager (blue badge)
3-Team Parent (green badge)
ALL MUST COMPLETE THE VOLUNTEER FORM ON THEIR ACCOUNT PAGE
COACH REQUIREMENTS (Managers/Head Coaches & Asst Coaches)
1. Complete the Volunteer Form on the Account Page on our website.
2. Upload DL, Concussion Course Cert and the Court Reporter Cert to that Volunteer Form (see links below)
3. Complete Live Scan and pass based on DOJ report to league (see LiveScan info below)
4. Pass the National Sex Offender Registry check (what DL is used for, and it's free)
5. Be on 'Teams Volunteers List' that team Manager submits
6. MUST have badge and it MUST be visibly worn to coach
TEAM PARENT (aka 'Team Mom') REQUIREMENTS
1. Complete the Volunteer Form on the Account Page on our website
2. Upload DL to that Volunteer Form
3. Pass the National Sex Offender Registry check (what DL is used for, and it's free)
4. Be on 'Teams Volunteers List' that team Manager submits
5. MUST have badge and it MUST be visibly worn to be in dugout
6. CANNOT BE ON FIELD. Coach Badge required to be on the field
One TEAM PARENT can sit in the dugout during games in Pinto (7u-MP and 8u-KP) and two in Filly and Shetland Divisions. For older divisions (Mustang & higher), they can assist as needed by Manager, but they cannot stay in the dugout unless they are a coach with a coach badge. To do so without the Live Scan Coach badge would put them over the LEGAL requirement, so we do not allow it.
TEAM PARENTS cannot help coach. To help coach, they must get Live Scanned (and the certs) to get that badge.
MINORS (who are volunteering) - Under 16 does not need badge. 16-17 year olds do need badge, just add as Volunteer to parents account, and upload school ID uploaded.
BADGES REQUIRED to be in dugout or on field during ALL GAMES.
Badges not required for practices, BUT the manager is responsible to know that ONLY MPB APPROVED VOLUNTEERS are helping in those practices. This is simple for the managers, it's just the same people helping him/her in the games.

CALIFORNIA YOUTH PROTECTION LAW (AB-506)
For ALL Coaches (Head Coach and Asst. Coaches) - California state law requires youth league volunteers to get a fingerprint-based Live Scan background check. Additionally, AB-506 also requires volunteers to complete a Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Training online course. The volunteers affected by this law will include all coaches and managers in Menifee Pony. Team Moms will not be affected by this law as long as they're not also coaching. Bill Text - AB-506 (section 1, chapter 209) Youth service organizations: child abuse and neglect prevention. (ca.gov). If you have been live scanned for Menifee Pony in the past, you do not need to do so again as long as you stay in the league, not being out for more than two years.
